A place where various events take place
Introducing: SMAN-10
Also known as Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 10 - located in Educational Center Samarinda - is a public high school known for student excellence and quality of education. It is considered a "superior high school", where students compete in various regional and national academic competition, and extracurricular activities that they can join.

The school have diverse facilities that the teacher and student can access such as general sciences laboratories (Biology, Physics and Chemistry), computer lab, workshops, sports field, library, dormitories, cafeteria, extracurricular rooms and even a virtual reality room.

Their teaching practice is different compare in the Philippines, as the curriculum prioritizes project-based learning. In other words, the teacher will give his/her class a practical activity that they need to accomplish in a single session. This encourages the student to learn by doing. Hence, making them the center of the classroom.

Pedagogy
In Indonesia, the teacher follows a new reformed curriculum named, "Merdeka Belajar" or known as "Emancipated Learning." This curriculum was developed in response to the gaps and in-context of the COVID-19 pandemic. One feature is the use of project-based learning to help the students to develop the general competencies.

In contrast, the Philippines it doesn't follow any necessary learning models, but rather from a Big Ideas to develop necessary skills that a child needs to developed in the 21st century. This is why it is difficult for me to create and develop my lesson plan that I will use in SMAN-10, as it is my first time creating a project-based plan.

However, thanks to the guidance of my buddies (Regina and Dinda) as well to my supervising teacher and mentor (Pa Fahrul and Bu Aul), I was able to create my first project-based lesson plan, while integrating our own version. I created my own cognitive, affective and psychomotor outcomes based on the content standard in the Merdeka Belajar. I also indicate the social integrations to apply the current lesson or topic in a current issue. Lastly, I put one reflective question to deepen the student's understanding and apply it to the current social issue.

For the teaching and learning activities, I applied the strategies that I observed in Bu Aul and Bu Kiki's class in Week 2. I divided the session into four main parts: Motivational, Discussion Proper, Practicum and Valuing. 40-45 minutes of the session is dedicated to the practicum as majority of the learning come's from it. It is a learning-by-doing classroom after all.

When it comes to my way of teaching, I don't give the content to my students as what my supervising teacher told me, "... They can just use their phone to google it." Hence, I use the Socratic way of teaching, where I ask the student a question and followed it with another question. This made the motivational and discussion proper shorter. Once done, I give each group their laboratory worksheet and the solar kit while giving them 40-45 minutes to accomplish the worksheet. Before the session ends, I give importance to the valuing integration. It is a way for me to assess and evaluate their application, understanding and analysis of the lesson in the real world. Also, it gave me an opportunity to explain and discuss their answers during their practicum.

Teaching Materials
I brought some materials that I used from the Philippines to Indonesia, such as my laptop and smartphone. Fortunately, SMAN-10 have wifi and a projector that I can use for my class. The topic that I was assigned to discuss is about renewable energy, which is a little difficult to teach when using the project-based approach. This is due to the materials that I can use for their practicum. Luckily, Regina and Dinda told me about the solar kits in the Physics Laboratory. These kit are perfect for the students to understand the mechanism behind solar panels and its benefits in providing green energy.
Classroom Management
I taught three Grade 10 sections during my practicum at SMAN-10. While preparing, I was thinking the rewards that i should give to them if they recite during the discussion, and I thought of giving them candy. Since my discussion proper is centered around using the Socratic method, I try my best to connect their answers to the main topic at hand, hence they can see the connection and appreciate their answers very well.
I have no troubles in managing the classroom as the students are not rowdy and they followed my instructions very well. I move around the classroom during their practicum and observed that they are minding their collaborating with their groupmates properly and answers the worksheet before the session end. Overall, I have no problems and difficulties encounter when managing their classroom
